Recently, the Brave Wilderness team had the pleasure of being chosen by a member of the Coyote Pack, Alex, for a wish fulfillment organized by the amazing Make-A-Wish Foundation! If you haven’t heard of Make-a-Wish, this incredible non-profit organization creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. The Brave Wilderness team was very happy to learn that Alex and his brother Mark were such big fans of the channel, and were excited to spend the day with them!
The adventure took place at COSI: Center of Science and Industry, a hands-on science center located in Columbus, Ohio. The day began with Coyote and Mario introducing Alex and Mark to some fun animals! Everyone got to meet and hold a python, a tarantula, and even some huge cockroaches! After a photo-op with the animals, the team then took Alex and Mark to watch some Rat Basketball. Now, what is Rat Basketball, you might ask? Well… it’s where rats play basketball, of course! These rats are specially trained to score some hoops after they get their treats. It’s pretty incredible!
After the rats were finished with their game, the group explored some of the amazing, interactive exhibits that COSI has to offer. First up was the limited-time Unseen Oceans exhibit where everyone got to learn about how the use of 21st technologies has allowed us to reveal previously unseen corners of the world’s vast oceans! This included getting up close to a horseshoe crab, a lionfish, eels, and some small sharks! It was truly an incredible experience for both Alex and Mark, as well as the team.
Next up, the team got to take Alex and Mark through COSI’s Dinosaur Gallery. This gallery is in partnership with the American Museum of Natural History, and it’s such a cool way to learn about the history of dinosaurs! Alex, Coyote, and Mario even found themselves getting pretty comfortable in a dinosaur’s nest…
Finally, the day at COSI ended with meeting…more animals! After learning all about dinosaurs, the crew got to actually meet some living dinosaurs, these two adorable chickens! Who knew a chicken could be so cute?!
Everyone here on the Brave Wilderness team was so honored to have been a part of Alex’s wish fulfillment. Thank you to the Make-a-Wish Foundation for making this exciting day happen!
